After living for over 500 years in their own home lands, the Rohingya Muslims are homeless, stateless and on the move! Their only crime was that they are Muslims.
Violently expelled from their own homes in what has been described as genocide and ethnic cleansing. Over 600,000 are now forced to live in large dense crowds in remote areas of Rakhine state. Those who couldn’t manage are refugees in Cox Bazaar, Bangladesh – The worlds largest refugee camp with over 900,00 Rohingya living there.
Since the violence erupted, TFGLM have been working with Islamic Relief to construct safe shelters for the suffering. These shelters are expected to last at least 10 years and will help the Rohingya people rebuild their lives and communities.
Help us build a village for them of 300 shelters!
The Prophet (saw) said: “If anyone relieves a believer from one of the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection…”
