Giving Life to Gaza

While the world watches the destruction of Gaza and the death of its infrastructure our sisters carry the hope for tomorrow.

Every 10 minutes a child is born to parents who are already homeless or in some cases, the child is born an orphan.

There are cases like Iman’s – who was forced to run, terrified, while eight months pregnant, through the streets of Gaza City when it was under attack. Now, 46 days after havind had a cesarean, she is hospitalised with a severe infection too weak to hold her new baby Ali.

There are thousands like Iman who are in desperate need of help. The lack of hygiene, water, basic essentials and the constant risk of bombings is leaving these mothers and future babies traumatised.

Taskforce GLM is working with Sahaba Hospital in Gaza City and Khair Hospital in Khan Younis to provide critical maternity care for mothers and newborns in the most desperate circumstances all for £500 per mother.

 We are providing:

  • Pre-natal screening
  • Safe birthing services – including natural births and emergency caesareans
  • Postnatal medical kits – with essential medications and tools
  • Hygiene kits – to protect both mother and child from infection

“Whoever saves one life – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” (Qur’an 5:32)

Product Description

Taskforce GLM are working to deliver urgent maternity support in Gaza.

The Prophet (saw) said: “The best of people are those that bring the most benefit to the rest of mankind.”

What is happening in Gaza:

In the wake of the recent escalation, over 1,000 civilians have lost their lives, with children making up a quarter of the fatalities.

The attacks have left thousands injured, with civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, severely damaged. We are hearing of severe medical shortages: Gaza’s healthcare system, already stretched thin, now faces an acute shortage of medical supplies and equipment necessary to treat the thousands injured and sick.

With homes destroyed and families displaced, the need for medical aid and shelter is now more urgent than ever, as disease and injury threaten vulnerable lives.

The conflict has displaced over 200,000 people, forcing them into overcrowded shelters with scarce access to basic necessities.

As of now, 80% of Gaza’s population relies on humanitarian aid for survival, yet the blockade severely restricts the flow of medical supplies, with critical shortages affecting 90% of essential drugs and disposables.

Hospitals, operating at the brink of collapse, face power outages lasting up to 20 hours a day, while water scarcity has left 1.2 million Gazans without access to clean water.

The mental health crisis escalates, with an estimated 400,000 children in urgent need of psychological support.
